Retrospective: Pandemic Days

A year ago, in September 2020…

We never know where our paths lead to... here we are dancing to the same song we sang at our high school graduation 25 years ago, the same sun shining on us 💛 Cheri in Moscow dancing ballet, me here in DC dancing flamenco. The last time I saw Cheri was when I visited her in Florence right after college... we were 21 years old!

It was awesome reconnecting with Cheri and all the “Old Girls” (as our alumnae are called), preparing for our 25th HS anniversary. So much light and joy in the midst of the pandemic. Loved every moment working on this and dancing to our song 💓 It was really special to see everything come together on October 18th, 2020 - the first ever online Velada 🥳

A bit more background:

In October 2020, my high school batch mates and I were set to make our way home to celebrate our 25th high school reunion and host the annual Velada, a long held tradition of Assumption College in the Philippines, our Alma Mater.

The lockdown had other plans.  And so it came to be… our High School Batch ’95 proceeded to host the annual tradition, for the first time in AC history, online.

In the next post, I share more on our Velada and a video of my contribution to our batch’s tapestry.
